How to edit and create a custom Minecraft Skin

Learn how to create your very own Minecraft Skin. Follow these steps to find out how to use the skin editor.


Step 1:

First you want to open the Skin Editor. You can always find it in the navigation bar under "More" -> "Skin Editor"

Step 2:

You now have a blank canvas with the default Steve skin. If you like you can start editing using this base. There is also the option to switch to the newer 3px slim model, also known as "Alex skin".

If you would like to import a skin, select the cloud symbol from the top and enter a username and hit "import", or choose a skin file you have saved on your computer to upload.

Step 3:

Start editing! Let your imagination go crazy, with the skin editor you have a wide asset of different tools and options to customize your new skin. Use the paint tool as a brush, to fill pixels. Select the color copy tool and grab the exact color you like. Or toggle the body/overlay layers, to give your skin a helm or other accessories.

Step 4:

Once you are done, do not forget to save your skin. You can do this by pressing the large Download Skin button, or by selecting Export in the toolbar.

This will then download a PNG file to your computer which you can then upload to your Minecraft Profile

Press export to save to your computer

Step 5:

Enjoy your new skin in game!
